Board of Directors
Tracy Richardson, SPHR
President

Tracy has been a member of BGSHRM since 1996. She has been on the Board of Directors for the last three years serving as Secretary, Public Relations Director and the newly created Website/Communications Director.

Tracy received a B.A. in Communications/Management and an M.S. Ed. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky. She received her SPHR in 2003.

Tracy is currently the HR Manager for the Bluegrass Airport. Prior to this position she served in a variety of HR positions for the Lexington Fayette Urban County Government. Tracy has also served as an instructor for the HRCI certification preparation program at UK and an adjunct instructor for the University of Kentucky, Sullivan University, Midway College and Lexington Community College.

She enjoys spending her free time with her husband, two beautiful twin girls and her dog.

Tracy Morford, SPHR
President-Elect

Tracy Morford organized a human resources consulting business, Tracery LLC, in July 2002 to assist small and medium-sized employers with their HR needs.  Her focus is to facilitate processes and programs that enable businesses to excel by maximizing employee performance.  Prior to forming Tracery LLC, she worked as an HR Director within private and government sectors for both small and large companies.  Tracy has a B.A. in Organizational Management and has been certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since December 2000.  She has been a member of BGSHRM since 2002 and has served on the Board of Directors the past two years as Succession Planning Director.  She also serves on the KYSHRM Council as Director-at-Large, Philanthropy.

Anita Neace, PHR
Secretary/Business Manager

Anita Neace has eight years HR experience and maintains the PHR designation. She graduated with honors from Eastern Kentucky University, majoring in Human Resource Management. Anita is employed by Link-Belt Construction Equipment Company in Lexington as an Employee Relations Specialist.

She has been a member of Bluegrass Chapter SHRM and national SHRM since 1998 and is also a current member of the Bluegrass Compensation Association and Kentucky Industry Liaison Group. Anita has served the chapter in the past as Secretary and Public Relations Director.

Susan Springer, PHR
Past President

Susan is the Director of Workplace Assessments for Best Companies Group, the KY SHRM partner that administers the annual Best Places to Work in KY program. Susan was formerly employed by MyCareerNetwork.com LLC as the Client Services Manager for BluegrassWorks.net, a regional job portal and workforce tracking tool. Prior to joining MyCareerNetwork.com, she was an Associate Human Resources Consultant for Palmer & Cay/Wachovia in Lexington, KY. Previously, Susan became the Director of Human Resources for Ecampus.com after serving as the Corporate Recruiter for their parent company, Wallace's Bookstores.

She has served in numerous volunteer leadership roles for Bluegrass SHRM and on the KY SHRM State Council. As a volunteer on the State Council, Susan was a key leader in developing the state’s first-ever Best Places to Work in Kentucky initiative. Susan graduated with high honors from the University of Tennessee with a B.A. in Psychology. In 2001, she received certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).

Tanya Barlog, PHR
Treasurer

Tanya Barlog, PHR, has over 12 years of experience in human resources and is currently employed as a Human Resources Generalist at Lexmark International, Inc. Prior to joining Lexmark, she was the Director of Human Resources at Motor Wheel Commercial Vehicle Systems in Berea, Ky., and held positions in human resources management at Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. in Berea and Howell, Mich., in addition to Metaldyne Corporation in Fraser, Mich. Prior to those roles, she was a Human Resources Generalist at Letica Corporation in Rochester, Mich. Tanya holds a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management from Michigan State University and is currently completing her Master's Degree in Business Administration at the University of Kentucky. She has been a certified Professional in Human Resources since 2000.

Jenny Goins, SPHR
Professional Development Director

Jenny has more than 20 years of experience in human resources and training and organization development. She is currently the HR Manager for ENTRAN in Lexington. Prior to joining ENTRAN she was the HR Director for ImagePoint in Knoxville, TN. She is retired from the U.S. Air Force where she held positions in public relations, human resources, and training and development. Her last 10 years in the Air Force were in education at the Air National Guard Education Center in Knoxville, TN where she retired as Commandant of the Noncommissioned Officer Academy. While in Knoxville, Jenny was a member of the local SHRM chapter and a former president of the Knoxville chapter for the American Society of Training & Development. Jenny holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Management and a Masters Degree in Education from Tusculum College in Greeneville, TN. She earned her SPHR certification in January 2006.

Susan White, PHR, CPC
Membership Director

Susan holds a B.A. in Organizational Communications from University of Kentucky. She worked in advertising sales before entering the HR field as a professional search consultant for firms in Cincinnati and Charlotte.  Now at CBS Personnel Services, she has served clients in the Lexington region in consulting and sales for the last 13 years.   She holds both the PHR and CPC certifications.  This is Susan's fourth year of service on the Board of Directors for Bluegrass SHRM.
 
Susan is active in community organizations including Junior Achievement, and the Bryan Station High School IT Academy Board.  In the past she has served as Alumnae President of her collegiate sorority and in leadership roles in Junior League, Council for International Visitors, and NC Association of Personnel Consultants. Susan is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Lexington and past member of Lexington Forum.

Liz Caras, SPHR
Public Relations Director

Liz has been an HR Business Partner at Lexmark International Inc. since 2006, supporting the company’s Consumer Printing Division. She joined Lexmark in 2004 as Recruiting Practices Coordinator, responsible for streamlining and improving the company’s U.S. recruiting processes.

Before joining Lexmark, Liz spent more than 17 years in journalism, as a reporter and metro assigning editor, working at several daily newspapers across the country. The last 12 were with Knight Ridder, where she specialized in recruiting, staff development and the management of intern programs.

Liz has bachelor’s degrees in journalism and English from the University of Kentucky. She earned her SPHR in 2005.

Rebecca Palmer
Student Chapter

Rebecca Bowman Palmer (“Becky”) has worked in human resources for over seven years. She is currently the Human Resource Manager at The Freeman Corporation located in Winchester. Becky attended Sullivan University from 2000-2005 earning an Associate Degree in Business Management, Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Leadership, and a Master Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. In 2002, she was one of twenty-six students nominated by Sullivan University as a member of the Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.

In March of 2005, she joined BGSHRM. Becky has taken several human resource training classes including harassment, discrimination, conflict resolution, communication, performance evaluation, recruitment, FMLA, and managing. She is active with the Winchester Chamber of Commerce and Clark County Partners with Education. In Becky’s time away from work she helps her husband with his business, Absolute Home Theater. She also enjoys outdoor activities such as boating, swimming, and camping.

Mauritia Kamer
Legislative Affairs Director

Mauritia is a member of Stites & Harbison’s Labor & Employment Law Service Group. Her employment litigation practice is representing corporate clients in employment discrimination lawsuits, wage and hour litigation, and trade secret and restrictive covenant matters. Her experience includes counseling management and representing employers before administrative agencies, state and federal trial courts and arbitrators in matters arising under FMLA, Title VII, FLSA and ADEA. She spends considerable time working with clients on preventative measures, including drafting employee policies, counseling on disciplinary actions and investigations, and negotiating severance and release agreements. She also represents employers in obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visas on behalf of their employers. Mauritia is admitted to practice in both Kentucky and Ohio and is currently the firm’s only lawyer admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. Mauritia has a B.A, cum laude. in Political Science from Virginia Tech University and a J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.

Beverly Clemons
Diversity Co-Director

Beverly began her career in Payroll / Benefits and has more than fifteen years experience in Human Resources Consulting specializing in professional search and recruitment, employee climate and attitude surveys, outplacement and career transition services, behavioral assessments, hourly and salary compensation design and analysis, employee development, wage and benefits administration, union avoidance, and general human resource consulting. She has worked with many companies and clients in various industries including manufacturing, service, telecommunications, financial institutions, health-care, non-profit agencies, hospitality, technology and internet-related companies, and others.

Beverly is an active member of a number of civic groups including Commerce Lexington (serving as past Chair of the Education and Professional Development Committee, Facilitator of a Business Advisory Group, member of the B.O.A.B. Steering Committee, and past-Chair of the Ambassador Committee); Bluegrass Society for Human Resources Management (currently serving as co-chair of Diversity and Community Outreach); Japanese - American Society of Kentucky (JASK); Professional Women’s Forum (past Co-Chair of the Programs Committee); Lexington Forum, National Association of Women Business Owners (current incoming President); member of the Governor’s Task Force on the Economic Status of Kentucky’s Women, and as a Fund Distribution Team Member for United Way and Lexington Partners for Youth. In addition, Beverly is involved with a number of charitable causes.

Sherry Myers, PHR
Diversity Co-Director

Sherry Myers, PHR has served on the BGSHRM Board since 2003 as Professional Development Director, Membership Director and currently as Diversity Co-Director. She is the Human Resources Manager for CLARK Material Handling Company where she has worked for 22 years. Her HR background includes recruiting, compensation and benefits, performance management, training & development, employee & labor relations, strategic management, and safety.She is also a current member of the Bluegrass Compensation Association, and HR Roundtable and Kentucky Industry Liaison Group. She attended Midway College and earned her HR Certification in 2002.

Robin Fleischer
Workforce Readiness Director

Robin Salyer Fleischer has completed her first year as the current director of the Graves Center for Calling and Career at Georgetown College. The mission of the Graves Center office is to help students bridge their liberal arts education with their career journey. Robin enjoys creating opportunities for employers to build campus relationships and serve as a campus connection for recruiting and meeting workforce needs. In addition to SHRM, she is a member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, and the National Career Development Association.

Robin feels privileged to work in higher education for the past 9 years, providing guidance and counseling to students and alumni in their career development process serving at Asbury College, 4 years with Transylvania University Career Development, and 2 years with the University of Kentucky Stuckert Career Center. Seeing the ‘light come on’ when an individual finds something he or she is really excited to pursue in education and employment is what fuels Robin’s passion! Her degrees in Bachelor of Science in Family Studies and Master of Science in Counseling Psychology are from the University of Kentucky; she is a National Certified Counselor, and she is pursuing her doctorate in education.

Robin has a passion for the people and community of Lexington and volunteers in many areas including Lafayette High School Boys and Girls Soccer Booster Clubs, Leadership Lexington Youth Program, Junior League of Lexington, Lexington Young Professional’s Association, Bluegrass Healthy Marriages Initiative, and Rotary Club of Lexington to name a few.  Married 24 years to her high school sweetheart, she and her husband spend lots of time watching their three older teenagers play high school and college soccer.

Jeri Tackett, SPHR
Best Places to Work & State Conference Promotions Director

Jeri has more than seventeen years of experience in human resources with small, regional and Fortune 500 companies, including responsibility for organizational development, strategic planning, leadership development, employee relations, policy development, compensation planning, benchmarking, recruitment and retention, and benefits administration.  As Director of Operations and HR with Benefit Insurance Marketing, an employee benefit and workforce consulting firm, she is responsible for the HR function for the company, as well as routinely consulting with clients on a variety of human resource and business challenges.  As a three-time Best Places to Work award winner, part of Jeri’s role is to ensure that BIM remains an employer of choice by providing a challenging work environment that not only supports, but encourages work-life balance.

 

Jeri has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis in Human Resource Management, and received her SPHR certification in 2002.  In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at home with her husband and two daughters.

Aimee Singleton, PHR
Succession Planning Director

Aimee joined the Bluegrass Chapter of SHRM in 2005 and joined the Board of Directors in 2006 as the Public Relations Director.  She holds a BBA in Management from the University of Kentucky and also completed the PHR exam as a student.  She was awarded the PHR certification in May 2007 after completion of two-years exempt-level work.

Aimee began her career in HR at LINPAC Materials Handling working as an intern in 2003.  She was hired upon graduation as their HR/Payroll Administrator and was promoted to HR Generalist soon after.  Aimee currently works as HR Director for Three Chimneys Horse Farm.

Jonathan Caldwell
Senior HR Engagement Director

Jonathan is currently the VP-Affiliate HR Director for Fifth Third Bank in Central Kentucky.  He joined Fifth Third in 2002, and held the position of Affiliate HR Director in Northern Kentucky before transferring to Lexington in April 2006.  Prior to Fifth Third, he held Recruiter and Generalist roles with US Bank in Cincinnati.  Jonathan began his career in Human Resources with ArvinMeritor, an automotive supplier in Columbus, Indiana.  He is passionate about positioning human resources as a strategic business partner within organizations.

 

Jonathan holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Eastern Kentucky University, and obtained his MBA from Xavier University.  He has been actively involved in the community through his affiliation with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the Legacy young professionals organization. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Northern Kentucky University. He is looking forward to continuing his commitment to community involvement and leadership development in Central Kentucky.

Michael Wells, SPHR
Communications & Website Director

Michael has served in a variety of HR positions in the restaurant, software/contract publishing and media industries since 1987.  He has benn employed with the Lexington Herald-Leader sine 1994, where he is currently a Human Resources Generalist.  Most of his experience has been in benefits, employee relations, training, and HRIS.

Michael has been a member of BGSHRM and National SHRM for many years, receiving his PHR certification in 2000 and his SPHR certification in 2008.  He has an Associates Degree in Business Management, and a BA in Organizational Management.  When away from work, he enjoys outdoor activities, travel and his dogs Merlin and Marlee.

LeAnn Hamm, PHR
Foundation Director

LeAnn is employed by Neogen Corporation as a Human Resource Generalist.  Prior to joining Neogen, LeAnn was employed at Lexmark International.  She obtained her PHR certification in 2006 and graduated from Midway College with a BA in Organizational Management and is currently attending class to obtain her BA in Human Resource Management.

When not working or attending class, LeAnn enjoys spending time with her husband Dennis and kitten Abby.
