Tanya Brening, PHR
President
Tanya has more than 15 years of experience in human resources and is currently employed as an HR Business Partner at Lexmark International, Inc. Prior to joining Lexmark, she was the director of human resources at Motor Wheel Commercial Vehicle Systems in Berea, Ky., and held positions in human resources management at Hayes Lemmerz International Inc. in Berea and Howell, Mich., in addition to Metaldyne Corporation in Fraser, Michigan.
Prior to those roles, she was a human resources generalist at Letica Corporation in Rochester, Michigan. Tanya holds a bachelor's degree in human resource management from Michigan State University and a master's degree in business administration at the University of Kentucky. She earned her PHR in 2000.

Christine Cornwell, SPHR
President-Elect
Christine has more than 20 years of experience in human resources, including recruitment, training, employee relations, strategic planning and human resource leadership.
Christine is employed with Hewlett Packard (HP) as an HR Development Consultant. Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in human ecology from the University of Maryland.
She has been a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) since January 2005 and certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) in December, 2010. In her spare time, she enjoys playing golf and traveling with her husband. Christine and her husband reside in Lexington.

Liz Caras, SPHR
Past President
Liz has been an HR business partner at Lexmark International, Inc. since 2006, supporting the company’s R&D organization. She joined Lexmark in 2004 as recruiting practices coordinator, responsible for streamlining and improving the company’s U.S. recruiting processes.
Before joining Lexmark, Liz spent more than 17 years in journalism, as a reporter and metro assigning editor, working at several daily newspapers across the country. The last 12 were with Knight Ridder, where she specialized in recruiting, staff development and the management of intern programs.
Liz has bachelor’s degrees in journalism and English from the University of Kentucky. She earned her SPHR in 2005.

Eric Kenoyer, SPHR
Treasurer
Eric has more than 15 years of professional experience of which the last 10 have been spent serving as the human resources leader for small to mid-size organizations in all major industries. His experience includes strategic design, implementation, and management of HR programs including the recruitment, selection and the deployment of human capital, performance management, employee development, benefit plan design and administration, succession planning, policy development, compliance, compensation system design and management, and general human resource management.
Eric is employed with Heritage Hospice as the director of human resources and holds a bachelor’s of business administration with an emphasis in human resources management from Eastern Kentucky. He has been certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) since February 2009.
In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, coaching volleyball, and hiking with his dog, Reilly.

Amanda Huddleston
Secretary/Business Manager
After receiving a bachelor’s in communications from Eastern Kentucky University, Amanda became a recruiter for a local grocery distributor. After a year recruiting entry and mid-level employees, she served for two years as an HR generalist working in recruitment, benefits administration and policy adherence.
For the past four years, Amanda has been employed by People Plus, a full service (family-owned and woman-owned) staffing firm. In June 2008, Amanda became a vice president where she currently manages operations, marketing and human resources. She is active in the Lexington Rotary Club, LYPA, Junior Achievement and is on the board for the Kidney Health Alliance of Kentucky. She is also a graduate of the United Way “Get-On-Board” program which trains individuals how to be successful board members. She resides in Lexington with her husband and two sons.

Andrea George
Communications Director
Andrea is currently an HR Business Partner at Fifth Third Bank, supporting the Central Kentucky affiliate. Prior to this position, she served as a financial analyst with Fifth Third until moving to human resources in 2006. As an HR business partner, Andrea’s responsibilities include leadership and organization development, performance and talent management, recruitment and retention, and employee relations.
Andrea has been active in numerous business and charitable organizations including Junior Achievement, March of Dimes, and Lexington Art League.
Andrea holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from the University of Kentucky.

Robin Fisher, PHR
Diversity Director
Robin is Hiring Coordinator and Human Resources Liaison for Markey Cancer Center Outpatient Services, part of University of Kentucky Healthcare. She has been with UK since July, 2005 completing a training program analysis for UK Employment and supporting UK Work-Life. She served on the Hospital’s Diversity Education Workgroup, Leadership Week Planning Committee, and graduated from the Humanity Academy. She is currently in the College Business Management Institute.
Prior to UK, Robin worked in the banking industry in customer service, sales, loan operations and training and development. She also volunteers with AARP as part of their Workforce Readiness Group, and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. Robin earned a bachelor’s in Business Administration from UK.

Catherine Wright, J.D.
Legislative Affairs Director
Catherine is a partner in the labor and employment law department of Dinsmore & Shohl, LLC. Catherine provides employment advice to clients, conducts training, and provides investigation assistance. She has defended against state and federal administrative complaints and handles employment litigation stemming from civil rights claims, the Family Medical Leave Act, and wage-and-hour issues. She has experience representing public employers, including public schools and the Commonwealth of Kentucky, defending First Amendment-based and Section 1983 actions. She has worked extensively with nonprofit entities that receive federal funding.
Catherine holds a J.D., University of San Diego School of Law (Order of the Coif, 1996) and a B.A., Honors Program Degree, University of Kentucky (1991) and is a member of the following associations:
Kentucky Bar Association, Fayette County Bar Association (chair of labor and employment section, past chair of Education Law Section), Volunteer Legal Services for Hospice of the Bluegrass, South Lexington Youth Baseball Group Leader, K-2 Grade, Southland Christian Church, Member of the Board, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass.

Debbie Scanish, MBA, SPHR

Debbie is currently the HR Director for AMR Management Services. Prior to this position, Debbie worked for Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana in Louisville as their HR Director. She has also held positions with Ryder Integrated Logistics and the lasw firm of Greenebaum Doll & McDonald.
Debbie is married to John, a forensic psychologist, and they have a daughter, 12, a spoiled bichon frise, and 3 cats.

TJ Stevens, PHR
Student Chapter Director
TJ is currently employed with EnerSys, Inc., an industrial battery manufacturer, as an HR Generalist. Prior to joining EnerSys, Inc., in June 2010, TJ worked in HR in the healthcare and retail sectors. As an undergraduate, he attended the University of Kentucky, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Personnel and HR Studies. Currently, TJ is pursuing a Masters in Business Administration with an HR emphasis from Morehead State University. He obtained the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification in 2008.
On a personal note, TJ is an avid runner and exercise enthusiast. He trains five days per week, and participates in competitive running. During his free time, TJ enjoys wine tasting and spending time at home with his two dachshunds.

Lewis Prewitt, SPHR
Workforce Readiness Director
Lewis has more than 30 years of human resources experience in industry, government and higher education, and is currently serving as the System Director for Systemwide Initiatives with KCTCS. In the many key leadership positions held, he has developed and implemented numerous complex human resources initiatives in a wide variety of organizational cultures. In addition, he has served as an adjunct faculty member with Bluegrass Community and Technical College and Midway College.
Lewis is a graduate of Transylvania University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and holds a MBA from the University of Kentucky. He has a lifetime certification as a SPHR.
