The position is responsible for providing ongoing strategic and operational leadership for the benefits department. This manager must be hands-on and capable of leading and driving program design, administration and compliance.
The candidate who will be selected must possess the following at a minimum:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Admin, Accounting or related field.
- Minimum of five years management experience in an employee benefits environment, including program design, administration and compliance serving at least 5,000 employees.
- Multi site environment; long term care industry preferred.
- Broad-based, strategic thinking capability for identifying, recommending and gaining executive approval of appropriate benefits-related strategies, programs, plans and practices.
- Ability to translate strategic plans into deliverables.
- Ability to create and communicate a long-term vision, while balancing short and long term goals.
- Excellent negotiating skills and experience for vendor agreements.
- Knowledge of relevant industry regulatory and compliance-related factors.
- Knowledge of benefits-related aspects and trends.
- Demonstrated intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook, Internet and Intranet navigation.
- Flexibility to travel up to 25% as required.
The compensation and benefit package includes:
· Salary $70,000-80,000 based on experience
· Bonus plan up to a max of 10% of annual salary

Job Description |
Our client, an automotive manufacturer, just east of Lexington, KY is seeking a Human Resource Generalist for their organization to assist in the areas of general human resource services, salary administration (audits and redesign), recruiting, staff and/or benefit liaison functions, training, benefits, employee services, employee relations and health promotion activities through human resources staff members. Ensures compliance with legal and company guidelines.
The person selected for this position will assist in translating business strategy into HR strategy, strategic staffing/recruiting and talent management/workforce planning. The ideal candidate will be organizational results driven and accountable for actions, able to work independently, have the knowledge to evaluate and monitor all aspects of benefits including plan design, service, cost, employee communication and market research, be knowledgeable of state and federal employment laws. Successful applicants should have demonstrated success with effective communication in a variety of settings and situations including written and verbal, the ability to forge strong, trusting and collaborative relationships, and advanced computer knowledge in excel, word, and power point. Will provide administrative and managerial support to HR Manager. Must be computer proficient and adept at charting / graphs and plotting and understanding data.
To be successful in our client’s environment, candidates must be able to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities requiring meticulous attention to detail. Must also be able to work productively and concentrate in an open office environment with high levels of interruption, make sound decisions and demonstrate a strong customer service orientation in all interactions. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business or related field of study; advanced degree desirable, minimum of 5 years experience in Human Resources; in a manufacturing environment, and significant employee relations experience.
